IREX IN THE COMMUNITY

One of the most important characteristics of the Irex Company is their interest in social development. Not only regarding collaborators but also regarding the country in general. This is proved by the fact that the company has included a group of people with disabilities in its workforce since 1991: 6 of them are blind and 3 of them present some kind of disability. They are part of a department and each of them carries out a specific task, having the same duties and rights as the rest. The Human Resources Manager states that handicapped people will find an opportunity for fulfillment in the professional and work areas in Irex de Costa Rica. They make great contributions to the company and they do their job just as any other employee.” Irex de Costa Rica makes contributions to education in schools around the canton of La Unión. However, the main contribution of this company is being an important source of employment: nowadays, 860 direct employees and 200 indirect employees (approximately) are benefited by this company.
